Let the Waters Flow

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 3:13–17

This week we celebrated a baptism here at Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship. Baptism has been a significant ritual in Mennonite life throughout history—so much so that the reformation group that Mennonites grew out of was called "Anabaptism," meaning "to baptize again." Early Anabaptists believed strongly that Christians should choose baptism for themselves as adults, which required first-generation reformers and converts to receive a second baptism as an adult after having been baptized by the official church as infants. For this week's sermon, Pastor Renee offers reflections on the significance of baptism and water.
