Pastor Renee delves into the Lord's Prayer, given as part of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew to a group of the marginalized in Galilee, who were being exploited by the power of empire. She focuses on "give us this day our daily bread," tracing the phrase's connections to Hebrew Scriptures and reminding us that we have been given enough to do today's work, and will be given enough tomorrow to do the same.
Pastor Renee also noted that Edith Espinal has been in sanctuary in Columbus Mennonite Church for almost 500 days. Columbus Mennonite has been provided enough resources, time, and empowerment to house her for all this time. They are now asking others to help replenish them. The Peace, Justice, Outreach and Service Committee shared more details about Edith's time in sanctuary. Watch the video above to hear Edith share about her time at Columbus Mennonite in her own words. Visit the Solidarity With Edith Espinal website to help provide enough for Edith and her family to continue their efforts to remain together.
